DENVER, Colo. — (December 27, 2006) Colorado Governor Bill Owens is forming a new investment venture with Denver-based JF Companies chairman Joel Farkas and JF Companies CEO and former Colorado House Majority Leader Chris Paulson. The new venture, JCB Group, LLC, will focus on identifying and acquiring available land for residential and commercial development and investment projects throughout the western United States, as well as select locations in Europe and the Pacific Rim.
As a key principal of JCB Group LLC, Owens will be responsible for determining the potential and feasibility of a variety of investment opportunities. “I look forward to this opportunity to work with individuals with a proven track record. It will be exciting to be involved in new projects from the acquisition phase through final development,” said Owens.
Owens will office at the JF Companies’ Denver Tech Center location. He also will be involved in a number of other business projects to be announced at a later date.
Owens’ partner, Joel Farkas of JF Companies, is well known for providing innovative approaches to secure utilities and infrastructure for raw land, enhancing not only the property’s value, but providing the foundation for master-planned residential and commercial projects. “Bill’s more than two decades of public-service expertise will be invaluable in helping us determine the most effective means to deploy capital to meet future demands for real estate investments,” said Farkas.
Owens and his other JCB Group partner, Chris Paulson, served in the legislature in the 1980s, when Paulson was House Majority Leader. Paulson is CEO of JF Companies.
JCB Group LLC will commence operations in early 2007, after Owens leaves the Colorado Governor’s Office on January 9th.
